MOVERS & SHAKERS.

We founded and now lead Move Summit, Scotland’s leading animation industry event.

“After I attended MOVE for the first time in 2018, it took me a fraction of a second to decide to come back again this year! It was a wonderful and inspiring event, full of the most lovely people. Roll on 2020!”

The Story of Move Summit

Origin

In 2017 Interference Pattern co-founded Move Summit, Scotland’s annual animation gathering. Answering the need for a focal-point industry event for the animation sector in Scotland, Move Summit has evolved from humble beginnings into a thriving three day conference. Talks, workshops, panel discussions and networking focussed on promoting industry development, partnerships, global outreach, inspiration and education. Developing stronger commercial connections throughout Scotland, the UK and internationally.

Evolution

In 2018 Move Summit grew to become a two day event, spread over two seperate venues. With a higher profile than before, the 2018 conference hosted international speakers, speakers from established UK studios such as MPC, Blue Zoo and ETC, as well as legendary UK studio Aardman Animation.

From simple beginnings, the conference has evolved into a thriving gathering place for our education and industry communities. Participation from the international animation industry, and partnerships and support from Scottish studios, have enabled growth and continued ambition. Move Summit is focussed on developing stronger commercial connections throughout Scotland, the UK and internationally.

“Inspiring, engaging and challenging – Move Summit is now on our ‘must go’ list of animation and creative events throughout the year. Connecting with others in the industry and hearing about the new ideas, innovation and creative excellence driving things forward was a truly enriching experience. Roll on Move 2020!”

Expansion

2019 saw yet another evolution for Move as we changed venues to accomodate our expanded offering. Now again centralised in a single venue, we occupied the Pleasance for three full days of spectacular programming. With the increased capacity that the new venue offered, a dedicated exhibition floor, multiple concurrent speaking spaces, a screening room for a curated selection of films, along with a fantastic main auditorium.

We hosted speakers from Framestore, Pixar, Blue Zoo, Nexus Studios, Union VFX, Axis Studios, Unity, Epic Games, Aardman, Buck, to name just a few.

“I’m  full of energy, ideas and great contacts after this wonderful rocking MOVE Summit 2019. It’s a great place to be.”
